What to Expect: The Rules & The Process
Adding a dropped kerb isn't quite as simple as just digging up the pavement. There is a strict legal process involved, and we provide free professional advice to help you navigate it without any stress.
To lower a kerb legally, homeowners must first apply for planning permission from their local authority. Once that permission is granted, your contractor needs to apply for a road opening permit (the cost of this permit varies depending on the council area).
Warning: Excavating a public highway or pathway without the necessary council permission is a serious offence. It can result in a fine of up to £1000 and even a criminal record. Let our experienced team make sure your project is 100% compliant and legal.
